Ghost Quartet with Oakland Theater Project
Dave Malloy’s quirky and wondrous ghost-story-musical is a work that’s as life-affirming as it is astounding. The piece is author-described as “a song cycle about love, death, and whiskey” in which “a camera breaks and four friends drink in four interwoven narratives spanning seven centuries.”
.
In partnership with New Performance Traditions, this production will take place at Oakland Theater Project from November 1—24.

The Truer History of the Chan Family by Byron Au Yong and Eugenie Chan
This summer I'll be working on non-fiction multimedia film project written by Eugenie Chan. I'll be playing the role of Josephine, an elocution teacher, vaudeville lady, and wife of Thomas. I'm so excited to watch this history come to life!
The Truer History of the Chan Family is a rollicking new vaudeville about the impact of America’s legacy of anti-Asian legislation and sex trafficking on three generations of the playwright’s Chinese American family. We layer original material with actual family documents to explore the world my grandfather Gumdock Chan and great-uncle Thomas knew - and made - one of high hopes and hard choices.

Triumph Of Love with Shotgun Players in Berkeley
I'm looking forward to another couple months with Shotgun Players by acting in Marivaux's comedy Triumph of Love. I'll be playing the lead role of Princess Leonide! For those who aren't familiar with the plot, I describe it as Twelfth Night on steroids . Come for the comedy, stay for the wine and cheese.
We open the season with a quest for love. The play follows the sly seductress Leonide as she adopts the dress and prerogatives of a man, invades the retreat of a rationalist philosopher who hates love, and hopes to win the object of her desire. Gender confusion is pivotal in the hilarious situations that ensue as the emotional stakes rise.
